Administrative Assistant

Overview

Nelson Law MN is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support client relations, scheduling, and day-to-day firm operations. This role is a key part of the client experience—serving as the first point of contact for clients and helping ensure matters are handled efficiently and professionally.

Our firm works closely with churches, religious schools, businesses, nonprofits, and families throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, providing counsel in employment law, school law, business matters, nonprofit governance, and estate planning.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls and emails

  • Schedule client meetings and manage firm calendars

  • Welcome clients to the office and assist with intake

  • Prepare and format legal documents (training provided)

  • Organize and maintain client files (digital and physical)

  • Assist with client communications and follow-up

  • Support general office and administrative operations

Qualifications/Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a warm, professional demeanor

  • Attention to detail, especially in document preparation

  • Reliable and able to work independently

  • Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information

  • Interest in helping churches and religious schools to fulfill their mission

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, email management, and basic document formatting

  • Preferred (not required): Experience in a professional office or legal setting

Details

  • Compensation: $18-26/hr, depending on experience and qualifications

  • In person at our Stillwater, MN office

  • 10 hours per week, working 3-4 hours per day for 3 days each week.
